My family and I have been trying to get in touch with you for a while. I hope everything is ok. It's been quite a long time since I've seen you face to face. Every year that passes is another year on my conscience that I haven't gone to see you. The powers that be don't exactly make travel easy...
I'd like to go back to Alaska sometime soon. Every year that passes is another year that climate change and environmental hazards erode my place of childhood. I saw a photo of Whittier Glacier from 15 years ago and today, I almost bawled. It's practically gone at this point. Nothing will ever be the same again and it breaks my heart.
Are you still playing? I feel like I barely touch my clarinet anymore now that I've gone into writing full time. I do miss it, but frankly, I don't ever think I was that good at it haha. Proficient for the standard high school musical pit performance I suppose. But I have never forgotten the joy of performing with others, that's something you kick started in me. I'll always be grateful for your wisdom and encouragement.
